ABOUT US

ABOUT US

Here at CCTE we strive to produce successful career ready graduates with experience in the field of their choice... and although our automotive department has been around for decades it has grown tremendously within these past few years!

Our students are actively involved in Skills USA competitions and work towards ASE certifications throughout the duration of their time here in our program. Many of our seniors are even interning at dealerships and local businesses during the school day! We pride ourselves in the fact that we are a dual credit program which means the majority of our students leave our campus with college credit.

Primarily we focus on four areas of study; brakes, steering & suspension, automotive electrical systems, and engine repair. We also cover other major automotive systems throughout our two year program. Safety is of the upmost importance to us so we cover it extensively at the beginning of each course and throughout the year.

A typical day in our class includes about a 50/50 split of classroom and lab time. During class we learn about the fundamentals of the systems we will be working on. Lab is typically spent out in the shop where students work in a variety of different work stations in which students learn how to use tools and equipment and even work on customer vehicles. We perform everything from oil changes and tire repairs to major engine overhauls. This is, of course, after every student has passed a safety examination with a 100% (SAFETY FIRST!).

Our program is in the process of getting NATEF certified. This is a prestigious certification that demonstrates our commitment to our students success. It is a multiple year process that we have diligently been working on which started with acquiring the tools we need to make our program successful. We are pleased to announce that we have accomplished that first goal and are now working with industry leaders to begin the next step towards certification.
